Group Health Insurance PolicyGroup Health Insurance is similar to Health Insurance for an individual or a family. The only difference is that the insurance is taken by a group of individuals which can be a Government Body or a Private Corporate, an Association, a Cooperative Society or an Educational Institution. Group health insurance policy is basically a health insurance cover applied for employees by the employer with an Insurance Company. The insurance rates are similar to rates that are applied to individuals, with certain discounts depending on the product details of various companies for Corporate/ SMEs/Group/ Insurance. 
Insurance Companies are free to quote premium depending on the following :
•Group size
• Claims history
• Other Business Premium
Group Health Insurance Members
• Employer-employee group
• Professionals association like lawyers, doctors, chartered accountants etc.
• Members of cooperative societies, banks, credit societies etc.
• Students form educational institutions
• Weaker sections of society.
Group Health Insurance Policy Coverages
Insurance coverage is given for Pre Existing diseases and Maternity Cover. Hospitalization charges are paid by insurance companies when a patient is in hospital due to accident, illness, surgery for more than 24 hours. Other insurance coverages include pre-hospitalization expenses (60 days prior to Hospitalization in case of all type of covers) and post-hospitalization expenses within a time period of the patient's discharge from Hospital or Day Treatment) (90 days after hospitalization in case of all type of covers). Emergency ambulance services to the nearest hospital, hospital daily allowances, day care surgeries etc., all these come under group health insurance policy coverage.
